Digital Shopping Experience
What are the minimums for placing website orders?
There is a $35 minimum for pick-up orders and a $50 minimum for delivery orders.
What is the delivery time frame?
Our delivery times are Monday through Friday from 8AM to 6PM and weekends from 9AM to 5PM. We have a two-hour window for each delivery.
What is the pick-up time frame?
Our team can place an order for pick-up from 7:30AM to 7:30PM Monday through Friday, and 9AM to 5:30PM on weekends.
Where do I pick up my order?
We have a pick-up window on 85th Street between Madison and 5th Avenue down the street from our Frozen Yogurt Window. You can also pick your order up inside the market (in the same area). There is a large lit-up sign that says “PICK-UP & DELIVERY.” You can’t miss it!
Can I place an online order from your Lexington location?
Currently, online orders are only available through our Madison Avenue location.
What is your delivery zone?
For our everyday market and catering orders, we are currently delivering between 110th Street and 50th Street. Delivery of market and catering orders outside of our delivery zone can be fulfilled through DoorDash, if requested. For holiday catering, we deliver throughout Manhattan.
How far in advance can you place orders?
Orders can be placed up to seven days in advance. We require 90 minutes to put your order together from the time you place it, some restrictions apply.
Can I place a catering order right now?
Catering orders can be placed at butterfieldcatering.gethoneycart.com. Or please contact us directly to place your order at catering@butterfieldmarket.com or 212-772-8782.
Do you ship orders outside Manhattan?
Because most of our food is highly perishable, the cost of shipping is extremely high and we currently only deliver in Manhattan, but if you have a special request please email web-orders@butterfieldmarket.com and we will see what we can do.
What is our return policy?
If you aren't satisfied with your purchase, bring the item back with your receipt within 5 days for a refund/store credit. Managers reserve the right to deny returns for special circumstances.
Can I purchase gift cards online?
You can purchase gift cards through our website but currently it can only be used at our markets. We are working towards a solution so that they can also be used for web orders. Once you place the order, we will ship out the gift card to you or the recipient.
I have a special discount at one of the markets, does it work for online orders?
Yes, if you currently part of one of our market discount programs, set up an online account and then email web-orders@butterfieldmarket.com and let us know your name and what discount program you are part of. We will then be able to update your online account.
Food-Related Questions
What are the serving sizes for your prepared foods?
Usually, for protein (fish, poultry, meat), our rule of thumb is half a pound to three-quarters of a pound per person. For grain side dishes, a quarter of a pound per person, and for vegetables, a third of a pound per person.
Are your prepared foods Kosher?
The foods prepared at Butterfield Kitchen are not Kosher. Many of our food options are cooked Kosher-style but are not prepared in a Kosher-certified kitchen.
Is your pastrami Kosher?
Our pastrami is made from Kosher meat. However, it is cooked at our market which is not Kosher certified.

Butterfield Market has a weekly newsletter. We share new food finds and offer deals for online shopping that you won't find anywhere else. A sign up form is at the bottom of this page.
Who oversees Butterfield Market’s branding and design?
We are fortunate to work with the amazing brand design firm Strohl Inc headed by Christine and Eric Strohl. Christine was the lead designer with the rebranding of Butterfield Market in 2006 while working for Mucca Design. Since 2017, Strohl Inc has overseen all of the brand and design concepts for print and digital.
